I set this up in the basement of our house in the 2001-2002 time frame after we moved to Shelby, NC.
I had only kept the two Jack Dempseys and the Blood Parrot from Lenoir. I asked a local fish store owner to keep them for
a month in the transition period. The male and femle produced offspring on a regular basis. The male ended up killing the
female overnight one night and I don't really know why. It may have just been too small of a tank. The only fish left before I moved again were
the Blood Parrot, the Pleco, and the male Jack dempsey.
The tank had the original two Topfin 30 hangon power filters on the back and kept the tank at about 78-80 F.
I think I kept the pH around 7.5 or 7.6. I changed 50% of the water every two weeks.
